Video: Teenager hits Guinness record solving Rubik’s cubes

A Chinese teenager, Que Jianyu has now cemented himself as the master of Rubik’s cubes, by breaking two more world records in unusual ways.

Xiamen resident Que Jianyu, who is 13 years-old was observed by a Guinness adjudicator when he solved three Rubik’s cubes at once — one in each hand and one with his feet — in 1 minute, 36.39 seconds.

Que then suspended himself from a bar and broke the record for fastest time to solve a Rubik’s cube upside-down, finishing with a time of 15.84 seconds, 1.6 seconds faster than the previous record holder.

Que who has been playing with the cubes as a six year’old already holds two Guinness World Records.

Que previously broke Guinness World Records for fastest time to solve three Rubik’s cubes whilst juggling and fastest time to solve a Rubik’s cube by a team of two.

“For beginners, it may look much difficult to achieve these records. At first, I solved the cube’s by using the formulas, after million times of practice I was familiar with all the logic of the formulas and then I upgrade them to my own way,” Que told Guinness official.

Que said that Rubik’s cubes have changed his way of thinking and allowed him to make more friends.

“When I was younger, I could hardly understand what [having a] dream really meant. It is Rubik’s cubes that have made my dream more concrete, and I believe that I have the power to strive for better results in the future.”
