Photos: Omisore APC’s man of the moment

Senator Iyiola Omisore is certainly the beloved politician of the All Progressives Congress, the party’s man of the moment, having played a crucial role in swinging victory to the party’s candidate, Gboyega Oyetola in the rerun election in Osun State.

His role certainly transcended the rerun as he swept all his Ife constituencies in the first poll on 22 September, appropriating votes that the PDP believed should have been its candidate’s if Omisore had not dumped it to run on the platform of the Social Democratic Party.

Omisore, who had campaigned to be the governor of the state three times was the undisputed kingmaker in the rerun election. Polling units in Ife South and North gave the APC candidate 681 votes to wipe out the 353 vote advantage the PDP candidate, Ademola Adeleke had in the September 22 election.

Then votes from Osogbo and Orolu completed the dramatic turn-around for sweet victory.

Not surprising, Omisore was the toast of the APC’s bigwigs at the State House Osogbo on Thursday, as results from the polling units were being declared by INEC.
