The Etsu-Nupe in Warri, Alhaji Zuberu Mohammed Tajudeen has called on Nigerians to pray for peace to reign ahead of the 2019 general elections.
Alhaji Tajudeen made the call shortly after a Jumaat Service in commemoration of the Eid-el-Kabir celebration in Warri, Delta State.
Tajudeen cautioned politicians not see the forthcoming elections as a “do-or-die” affair.
According to him, “We need to pray. Like today in the mosque, we prayed for the coming election that there should be peace among all the creation of God.
“I pray by the grace of God, the election that is coming is going to be a peaceful and a memorable election.”
The Nupe chief in Warri also called on the Federal Government of Nigeria to improve on the nation’s security apparatus so that there can peace in the country.
He stressed that it is only when the government is peaceful that the citizenry will enjoy peace.
