2019: Bauchi APC senatorial aspirants reject imposition of candidate

An assembly of All Progressives Congress, APC, Bauchi south senatorial aspirants has protested against, and rejected any attempt by agents of the party to declare their preferred aspirant as the senatorial candidate ahead of the 2019 election.

The senatorial aspirants cautioned the party and its officials to stay away from declaring any aspirant as winner of an election for the senatorial district that did not hold.

Barrister Ibrahim Zailani, Dr Safiya Iliyasu, Hajia Fatima and Ahmed Shuaibu handed this warning respectively while addressing journalists on Friday in Bauchi.

The aspirants said their decision followed purported none conduct of election in all the seven LGAs of Bauchi state in line with electoral provisions.

They said, “We kick against any shoddy deal to impose one of us even when election did not hild in all the seven LGAs in Bauchi south, because we learn he is a preferred choice for his sponsors.”

“Honestly, there was no election in all primary election in Bauchi but candidates were imposed by power that be and we demand cancellation of the primary election,” the aspirants added.

They warned that failure of the APC national working committee, NWC, to address their complaints will surely spell doom for the party during the 2019 election.
