Again, Bayelsa APC depleted as more members join PDP
Ahead of 2019 general elections, more chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and allies of former Bayelsa State Governor, Chief Timipre Sylva, have left the party.
Two of Sylva’s close associates, a former Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Gideon Ekeuwei, and a former Special Adviser, Chief Rufus Abadi, along with their supporters, yesterday, defected to the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.
This is coming a few days after another associate and Publicity Campaign Manager of Sylva, during the ill-fated 2015 election, Chief Nathan Egba, returned to the PDP.
The duo of Ekeuwei, and Abadi were received alongside their supporters by Governor Seriake Dickson at Government House, Yenagoa. The governor also called on other well-meaning APC members in the state to immediately move to the PDP as the people of the state and, by extension, the Ijaw nation have to come together to chart a common front to promote development.
