Fulani people are not criminals
Sen. Shehu Sani has bemoaned the unfair portrayal of Fulani people as violent herdsmen, noting that criminal elements exist in all ethnic groups.
Sani, at the National summit on conflict resolution and reconciliation organised by TVC and Nation Newspaper, said the perception needed to be corrected.
According to him, Fulanis are a people who are very proud of their rich culture and history and should not be labelled as criminals.
He urged Nigerians to change their perception towards Fulanis, stressing the need to invest in security, peace and survival of the country.
For his part, former EFCC Boss, Nuhu Ribadu said that the Borroro Fulani tribe had been highly marginalised.
He urged tolerance and understanding among all ethnic groups in the country.
