Embattled governorship aspirant in Imo State, Uche Nwosu, has faulted the All Progressives Congress (APC) for removing his name as the party’s candidate in 2019 election.

Nwosu, who is son-in-law to the state governor, Rochas Okorocha, spoke to journalists in Abuja.

He said he won the primaries that were conducted twice and promised to reclaim, his mandate from Senator Hope Uzodinma, to whom the party has given the ticket.

The aspirant said he was surprised that the APC National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, sidelined him to present Uzodinma to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as the party’s standard-bearer.

He promised not to dump the APC to pursue his ambition in any of the opposition political parties in the country.

Asked whether he would approach the court to achieve his goal, he said: “The existing court order has not expired. There is a court order restraining the party from submitting the name of Hope Uzodimma and from accepting the result from Gulak.

Meanwhile, aggrieved APC women in Edo State at the weekend, threatened to boycott the 2019 polls over irregularities.

The state APC women Coordinator, Dr. Aisosa Amadasun, who led disclosed this at a press conference in Benin City.

She accused the party’s leadership of godfatherism, high-handedness, imposition of candidates, which negates democratic principles.

According to her: “The primaries conducted so far by the leadership of APC across the 36 states of the nation, is not only shameful, disgraceful, undemocratic, a charade but also threw many states into mayhem, and shocked the foundation of the party to the verge of precipice.

“Conversely, before the emergence of the current National Working Committee (NWC), the APC granted waiver to women.
