Ballon d’Or 2018: Hernandez names one player ahead of Ronaldo, Messi

Atletico Madrid star, Lucas Hernandez has revealed one player that should win the 2018 Ballon d’Or ahead of Juventus forward, Cristiano Ronaldo and Barcelona ace, Lionel Messi.

Ronaldo and Messi have dominated the award in the past decade.

The pair had won an incredible five awards each in that time frame, with Ronaldo equaling Messi’s tally last year.

Hernandez, however, has tipped fellow teammate, Antoine Griezmann as his favourites to win this year’s Ballon d’Or ahead of Ronaldo and Messi.

“Antoine deserves the Ballon d’Or. He is my favourite,” Hernandez told France Football.

“He has been a key man in all of the major competitions he has played in this year. He has won almost everything and contributed everywhere.

“He has been so consistent. He has been up at the top for two or three years.

“He has taken another step since 2016 when he was in the final of the Euros and third in the Ballon d’Or vote with France Football.”
