A lady identified as Rahmatu and her husband have been arrested for allegedly brutalizing a 5-year-old girl that lives with them at Angwan Dosa, in Kaduna and almost got her blind.
It was learned that the girl had defecated on her bed following complains of an upsetstomach. The development angered Rahmatu, who descended on the victim, leaving her physical injuries, mainly on her face. .
Luck, however, ran out on the suspect, when a neighbor, who got wind of the incident, alerted members of an NGO, Umukhail Foundation, who rescued the girl and reported to the state Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development (MWASD). .Confirming the incident, the Commissioner, MWASD, Hajiya Hafsat Baba, said the girl had been treated at Barau Dikko Specialist Hospital, Kaduna and now in safe custody pending when her father would come from Maiduguri, Borno State where they hail from.
