2019: Senator Ayogu Eze returns, keeps mum on guber ambition
Senator Ayogu Eze was on Saturday received by his political associates and party supporters as he returned to Enugu through the Akanu Ibiam International Airport.
Eze, former Senate Committee Chairman on Works, was accompanied by the chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Enugu State, Dr. Ben Nwoye and a host of other party chieftains.
He had earlier defected from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the APC where he intends to pursue his guber ambition.
However, he failed to declare his political plans when he addressed his followers at the airport.
Eze told his supporters that he would not let the people of the state down while advancing his political career.
“Today is not a speech making day. I want to let you know that I will not let you down.
“We will unfold our plans in due course. As you go home, do not make trouble because Enugu is a peaceful State”, he
added.
DAILY POST reports that Eze represented Enugu North Senatorial Zone under the
umbrella of the PDP for two terms.
A source said the Senator is likely to declare for governorship in his new platform, APC, on September 15.
