Isoko Fed Constituency: Othihiwa fits the bill — Etaluku

AHEAD of the 2019 general election, Chairmen of the Elders Council of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Isoko South Local Government Area, Chief Dennis Etaluku has said that House of Representatives aspirant for the Isoko Federal Constituency seat, Sir Ayodele Othihiwa is equipped with all it takes to give qualitative representation to the Isoko nation.

Speaking during the consultation visit of Othihiwa to the leadership of Isoko Development Union, IDU, Etaluku said:

“At this time of our development, Isoko needs a man with thick skin, a highly skilled technocrat with international, national and local exposure like Ayodele Othihiwa. He has the managerial acumen and is very qualified and competent to represent Isoko nation at the green chambers”.

Describing Othihiwa as a renowned chartered accountant, economist and risk management expert with over 27 years experience, he said the time had come for a paradigm shift in the politics of Isoko nation to ensure equity and fairness.

In his remarks, Othihiwa promised to initiate legislation that would  impact positively on the people of Isoko Federal Constituency if elected, especially “laws that will lead to creation of jobs as well as strengthen our infrastructure.”

He said he was determined “to focus on the needs ‘of our people through educational bills to standardize the educational sector, constant agricultural programmes to improve the agricultural sector, sustainable human capital development, improved access to health care services as well as prompt and equitable execution of projects in all the communities in Isoko land.

“I have done several consultations and the outcome of that consultation is that Isoko is desirous of a change and that change is what I am going to give to the Isoko people come 2019 and also, to ensure that projects that are meant for Isoko nation will be executed according to purpose and not for personal aggrandizement”.

On his part, President General of IDU, Chief Iduh Amadhe said: “We want Isoko to get to the next level and it is only patriotic politicians that can do it for us. We don’t want selfish politicians to represent us any longer.

“Anybody that goes to represent Isoko must come and give us report. Your report card is very important so that we can get the development of Isoko.”
