Ballon d’Or 2018: Blaise Matuidi reveals player to win award
Juventus midfielder, Blaise Matuidi has named fellow teammate, Cristiano Ronaldo as the player that deserves to win this year’s Ballon d’ Or ahead of other contenders.
Matuidi believes that the Portuguese captain deserves to win the Europe topflight individual prize because he always wants to win and make the difference.
Recall that Ronaldo was shortlisted for the 2018 Ballon d’Or award last month.
Ronaldo and Barcelona captain, Lionel Messi have dominated the award for ten years now.
The pair had won an incredible five awards each, with Ronaldo equaling Messi’s tally last year.
The 2018 Ballon d’Or award ceremony will take place on December 3, 2018, in Paris.
“Cristiano Ronaldo deserves to win it [Ballon d’ Or],” Matuidi told Sky Sport Italia.
“He always wants to win and that makes the difference.”
Maituidi added: “In Champions League we are doing well.
“We had some good matches and we only stopped against Manchester United because we didn’t score as many goals as we should.”
Maituidi will hope to lead Juventus to victory when they tackle Fiorentina on Saturday in the Serie A fixture.
