Serie A: Juventus defender, Barzargli speaks on Ronaldo’s failure to score goals

Juventus defender, Andrea Barzagli has spoken up on Cristiano Ronaldo’s lack of goals at the club.
Ronaldo is yet to score a competitive goal for Juventus since joining the Italian from Real Madrid earlier this summer.
The 33-year-old scored 450 goals as he helped the Spanish giants win 15 trophies, including the Champions League on four occasions.

The Portuguese has, however, endured a slow start under Massimiliano Allegri at Juventus, failing to bag in wins over Chievo, Lazio and, most recently, Parma.

“We are not worried about the fact that he hasn’t scored,” Barzagli was quoted by Express Sports as saying.

“He is a great champion and it is amazing to train alongside him.

“I think we have a stronger roster than in past seasons but in the end, it is the results that count.”

Ronaldo’s impressive record in the Champions League has seen him touted as the man to end Juventus’ wait for European glory.

Barzagli also believes the former Manchester United winger could make the difference in the Champions League this season.

“Let’s hope, we will work hard,” Barzagli added.

“To win a Champions league is very difficult but we now have Ronaldo who knows how to win finals.

“Let’s see, it won’t be easy, that’s for sure.”
