Kachikwu, Akinlaja, others to attend petroleum marketers safety conference

Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr. Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu, and Chairman, House Committee on Petroleum Resources (Downstream) Mr. Joseph Akinlaja will be among the special guests to address participants at the 2018 edition of Lagos State Petroleum Marketers Safety Conference (LSPMSC) holding on Tuesday September 18  in Lagos.

The event is organised by Bendeb Sylmar Associates Limited in partnership with the Lagos State Safety Commission to inspire a paradigm shift in safety management practices amongst petroleum marketers.





A statement signed by James Ashokeji Chairman/CEO J. Bendeb Sylmar Associates Limited said the conference with theme ‘’Enhancing Productivity in Handling Petroleum Products: The Imperative Of Safety’’ will present a platform for stakeholders in the petroleum trading industry to synergise with the Lagos State Government’s “Vision Zero”, which is a commitment to completely eradicate accidents that lead to loss of lives and destruction of property in the state.

Also, strong emphasis will be placed on global best practices in road haulage of petroleum products and priority given to road worthiness of articulated vehicles.

More than 800 delegates, 1500 visitors, 40 exhibitors and 25 speakers are expected at this unique safety conference for robust panel discussions, seminar, technical sessions, networking, and exhibition.

Other notable speakers are President, National Industrial Safety Council of Nigeria (NISCN), Mr. Cletus Akhigbe; Corps Commander, Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE), Commander Abdulfatai Olaseni Ogunyemi; and Mental Health Physician, Dr. Maymunah Yusuf Kadiri.

Official endorsing partners of the conference include Oil & Gas Service Providers Association of Nigeria OGSPAN, Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria IPMAN and National Industrial Safety Council of Nigeria NISCN.
