Adopt Gov. Ugwuanyi as consensus candidate – Ohanaeze tells political parties

The Ohanaeze Youth Council, OYC, Monday, called on the coalition of political parties in Enugu State to adopt Governor Ifeanyi as their consensus candidate ahead of the 2019 general elections.

The call was contained in a statement signed by the OYC Secretary-General, Mazi Okwu Nnabuike.

According to him, “The excellent performance of the executive Governor of Enugu State and his peaceful disposition in the State in carrying everybody along not minding party affiliations is worthy of emulation.

“Paying of workers’ salary as at when due, youth empowerment, traders, infrastructural development under his administration is also worthy of note.

“So, having carefully observed that the entire people of the state have endorsed the Governor for re-election come 2019, we, therefore, call on other political parties in the State to adopt the hard-working Governor as their sole candidate.

“Similarly, we thank the good people of Enugu West Senatorial District for purchasing the form and making sure that Prof Senator Ike Ekweremadu accepted to seek re-election to the Senate come 2019.

“He’s a great son of Ndigbo. Ekweremadu represents Ndigbo and not just his constituency. We urge the people of Enugu West Senatorial District to ensure that he is returned to the Senate come 2019.

“The good people of Greater Awgu also said that they want to consolidate on their gains by purchasing the re-election form for Rt. Hon. Toby Okechukwu, who is representing them at House of Reps, and who has distinguished himself in service delivery to his constituents.

“On this note, we want to call on the people of Greater Awgu to complete the good work they started by making sure that Rt. Hon. Toby Okechukwu returned to the green chambers of the National Assembly.”
