Ben Murray Bruce, the Senator representing Bayelsa East constituency has congratulated Hon. Blessing Ipigansi Izagara, who has won the senatorial primaries on the platform of the People Democratic Party (PDP).
In a tweet posted on Tuesday, Ben Bruce admitted that he wants Izagara to replace him in the Senate and insisted there was no bad blood.
“My hearty congratulations to Hon Blessing Ipigansi Izagara, who has just won the @OfficialPDPNig Senatorial primaries for Bayelsa East.
“God willing, this is the man who will succeed me in the @NGRSenate.
“We are one family in Bayelsa East and nothing will break that familial bond,” he wrote.
Ben Bruce withdrew from the senatorial race on Monday.
