Word best footballer: Ericksen names three best players

Tottenham star, Christian Eriksen, has said that Real Madrid ace, Gareth Bale, follows Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi in ranking for world best players.

Ericksen said Messi and Ronaldo are the best players in the world but Bale is ‘very close behind them.’

Ronaldo and Messi are generally recognised as the two greatest players on the planet.

Ronaldo and Messi have dominated the Ballon d’Or for the past 10 years each winning the gong five times.

However, Bale is yet to reach the top three for the prize.

Eriksen said the Welsh forward is among the three best players in the world.

“He’s a top, top player,” Eriksen told reporters ahead of Denmark clash with Wales this weekend.

“Nobody in the world is the same as Messi or Ronaldo, but he’s in a group who are very, very close behind them.

“He has been playing at Real Madrid for a long time now and he has done very well there. Even to ask the question about how he compares to Messi or Ronaldo shows he is up there.

“Bale is someone who can always give them something extra. He does it in any team he plays for.

“He is very quick, very direct, and he is always guaranteed for a few goals. International football is all about getting goals, and he does that.”
