The celebration which took place at the weekend, marked his second major event as a monarch. His first major event which took place barely eight months ago, was his coronation proper as their royal father which took place after he was presented with a certificate of recognition and staff of office by His Excellency, Chief Willie Obiano, the Executive Governor of Anambra State on December 12, 2017.

According to a staff of the palace, Chief Odiatu Michael, the cabinet members were drawn from each of the four quarters that make up Omor town viz; Orenja, Akanator, Aturia and Amikwe.

Also speaking on behalf of the indigenes of Omor town, Chief Ikechukwu Oforkaja, a native of Orenja Quarter, disclosed that they had cause to celebrate the inauguration of the royal cabinet because the royal father took his time in selecting the people of high pedigree and social status that make up his cabinet list, including reputable lawyers, academicians and other professionals.

According to Oforkaja, the ascension of Igwe Oranu Chris Chidume to the royal throne of his forefathers since December last year, has already brought rapid development to the town, including the refurbishing of electrical installations that brought light to the town, sinking of boreholes and a work in progress to attract a commercial bank to operate in the area.

Performing the inaugural ceremony, Igwe Oranu Chris Chidume noted that in selecting the cabinet members, he took his time to look at their pedigree, social status and willingness to contribute to the development of Omor town.

He therefore charged them to see their selection as a call to service, and to work towards the betterment of Omor town. He further said that in getting the vibrant persons, they did not look at geographical locations but individual capabilities to be galvanized into their developmental strategy, bearing in mind that they have a dream of how Omor town will look like.

He advised his subjects to begin to appreciate the beauty of peace and to embrace peace, love one another, support the government of Anambra State under the able leadership of Governor Willie Obiano, even as he also admonished all Omor indigenes to be good ambassadors of Omor town wherever they find themselves.

Visibly happy at the level of acceptance of the members of the cabinet by the people of Omor town, the monarch further enjoined the people to be ready for more opportunities to work and serve in the cabinet and not to see the selection as full and final ceremony of Omor town traditional government structure as there is still room for chieftaincy title-taking ceremonies.
